The Write with Light Project, an annual fundraiser at a nationwide lemonade stand for people living with rare diseases, will open two locations in West Texas on Saturday.

Cathy Oestmann, Midland: 2820 Golf Course Road (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., also open today)

Kami Little, Odessa: 2404 Oakwood Drive

This year’s funds will go to the Fontan Go Clinic at Texas Children’s Hospital, which specializes in congenital heart defects of the single ventricle.

Elizabeth Nichols formed the nonprofit after her third child, Sunley, was born with a rare form of hypoplastic right heart syndrome. Now, the former Texan shares daily updates about her daughter and her family via a blog called Lemonade Landing, named after the property they live on.

This weekend, 31 booths spanning 13 states will be operating. Two other locations – one in Midland and one in Odessa – also operated today. Donations to the organization can be made on their website (writewithlightproject.com).
