As more and more of our clients use digital media, York City Council is looking for a Website Setup Agent to join our small but large web services team and undertake aspects of PHP coding and development.

Key skills and experience required;
We are looking for someone with a minimum of one year of experience developing custom business
process and system integrations, using their specialized technical knowledge.
You will need to work with our existing content management software and systems and have a good working knowledge of web services and version control, ideally with a good understanding of W3C standards.
In addition, the successful candidate will have;
- Communication confidence, with the ability to express complex ideas concisely and understandably for people of all abilities.
- Strong configuration skills and the ability to make positive decisions, based on your technical knowledge and knowledge of data processing and integrations.
- Demonstrated experience in querying core business business information processes; you will champion the role played by effective digital processes within a large organization and have an understanding and appreciation of the benefits of using content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) , master data management (MDM) and geographic data. information systems (GIS).

At this time, due to the impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, some of our employees are working remotely from home, but a return to a combination of remote and physical working from Council offices is planned. in a close future.
As a newcomer, your contract location will be the designated council office for your team. Your working arrangements will vary depending on your department and role, as well as current government guidelines. For many roles, there will be more opportunities in the future for remote and hybrid working. However, with this comes the expectation that as workplaces open up, there will likely be an ongoing and occasional requirement to travel to the workplace.
As this role is open to the public, candidates will be required to demonstrate, in an interview, their ability to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English at CEFR level C2: Can express themselves spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or returning to any difficulty so easily that the person they are conversing with is barely aware of it.
