WINSTED – A culvert replacement project on Pratt Street will include a traffic detour, starting Tuesday through Friday, September 17, according to an announcement from the Department of Public Works.

“The traffic will be diverted because Eversource moves the gas line in this area, before the planned construction,” the statement said.

The road will reopen at the end of each working day to allow for local travel, officials said.

The culvert replacement will begin on September 20, and Pratt Street traffic from the Upson Avenue intersection to the Lovely Street intersection will be subject to the detour, officials said.

Public Works also indicated that “This work is very dependent on weather conditions as it will be undertaken on a flowing stream,” according to the ministry. “Please note that all houses in the designated construction area will remain accessible to the police, fire department and EMS.”
