The Watauga Aging Project has market vouchers for senior farmers

The Watauga County project is once again offering Senior Farmers Market nutrition vouchers.

Any Watauga County resident age 60 or older who meets the income criteria can now schedule an appointment to pick up free vouchers for the Farmer’s Market.

Vouchers are available for the first 100 people to qualify.

Coupons are good for $42.00 of free produce at local farmers markets.

Eligibility for the program is anyone age 60 or older whose income is less than $2,096 per month (singles) or less than $2,823 per month for couples. No documentation is required, and it’s quick and easy to enroll in the program.

This program takes place once a year and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

All vouchers must be redeemed at the Farmer’s Market by the end of September 2022.
