Russian project 20380 Steregushchy-class corvette Rezky to undergo shipbuilder sea trials


According to information released by the Russian news agency TASS on November 1, 2021, the Project 20380 Rezky corvette (NATO report name: Steregushchy class) arrived in Vladivostok in the Russian Far East to obtain additional equipment and undergo mooring and shipyard sea trials, said Pacific Fleet Commander Sergei Avakyants. The corvette will join the Pacific Fleet in 2022, he added.

“Today, the Rezky corvette transported from Komsomolsk-on-Amur to Vladivostok left the Zeya floating dock and arrived at the Amur Shipyard equipment base in Vladivostok to obtain additional equipment and prepare for the mooring and sea trials of shipbuilders, ”Avakyants said.

According to the commander, “the Pacific Fleet is expected to receive the new corvette in 2022.” The Pacific Fleet currently operates Project 20380 Sovershenny, Gromky and Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvettes.

The Rezky Steregushchiy class, Russian designation Project 20380, is a class of corvettes under construction for the Russian Navy and designed by the Central Marine Design Office in Almaz. The corvettes have a steel hull and composite superstructure, with a bulbous bow and nine watertight subdivisions. It has a combined bridge and command center, as well as space and weight for eight SS-N-25 missiles. Stealth technology has been used extensively in shipbuilding, along with 21 patents and 14 new computer programs.

It is armed with a 100mm A-190 or 130mm A-192 naval gun, a CIWS-M Kashtan (close-quarters weapon system), eight Kh-35 subsonic anti-cruise ship missiles ( SS-N-25), two AK -630М CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems), eight 330 mm torpedo tubes for anti-torpedo / anti-submarine torpedoes Paket-NK (Paket-NK / E for export) and two machine guns on 14.5 mm MTPU base.
