A resurfacing project on King Street in Boone is scheduled to begin with overnight operations during the first week of June.
A North Carolina Department of Transportation contractor will begin milling King Street (US 321/421) from Hardin Street to Highland Hall Road on Sunday night, June 5.
Parking on King Street will be prohibited from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. during the following operations. Additional parking information is available at http://www.DowntownBooneNC.com/Parking
Crushing operations will begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening until Thursday evening. No work is allowed from Friday morning to Sunday evening.
Paving operations will begin on Sunday June 12 and will continue on the morning of Friday June 17.
Additional localized closures on King Street may be required for the adjustment of utilities during operations.
All work is weather dependent and conditions may alter the schedule.
Final results will include a new driving surface, lane markings, parking lines and plowable markers.
