Metcal Launches New HCT-910 Hot Air Rework System
METCAL announced the launch of the new HCT-910 Hot Air Rework System. This hot air system is accurate and intuitive to use, with high thermal performance capable of meeting the full range of application requirements needed for production and rework in electronics manufacturing.
The Metcal HCT-910 can generate 900 watts of heat with a maximum temperature of 600°C. This extends the capability of the Metcal HCT-910 beyond standard thermal demand applications to heat demanding military, defense and aerospace applications using highly metallized circuit boards.
The Metcal HCT-910 digital interface is intuitive and easy to use. The system incorporates a new control method that makes it easy to quickly adjust temperature and airflows without taking your eyes off the application. Additionally, a multi-color status light on the handpiece is a visual cue for the operator regarding the “current status” of the device.
“The Metcal HCT-910 dramatically improves the user experience by adding features such as ‘on the fly’ manual control which uses a single push button to quickly adjust, control and switch between temperature and airflow. This intuitive design, coupled with precise temperature and 900-watt heater performance, will improve throughput while controlling a strict quality process,” said Curtis Yamauchi, Product Manager, Metcal.
The Metcal HCT-910 can be configured for all global standard power and voltage outlets. It also offers an intuitive user interface, multiple language settings, and a USB port for updating software and powering peripherals such as fans, lights, cameras, or even a cell phone.
The complete system for each model includes the hot air tool, power cord, and handpiece holder to support a variety of soldering and rework applications.
