The project can save 485,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year

Xian, China, May 12, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Just one year after its establishment, LONGi Hydrogen wins Sinopec’s Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project, to provide world-class large-scale ALK electrolysis equipment. The project is China first green hydrogen project over 10,000 tons and the largest green hydrogen project in the world to date.

With a total investment of up to 3 billion RMBthis project will build a new 300 MW photovoltaic power plant and a water electrolysis hydrogen production plant to generate 618 million kWh of green electricity and 20,000 tonnes of green hydrogen per year.

The project is expected to be completed and commissioned in June 2023which will reduce 485,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year to help China’s oil and gas industry meet the emissions and decarbonization target.

LONGi Hydrogen has been recognized for its pioneering technology

LONGi Hydrogen will provide the world’s leading large-scale water electrolysis equipment with a 4 to 1 electrolyzer – a system of gas-liquid separation devices to achieve hydrogen production of 4,000 Nm³/h. The system is designed and proven to achieve peak performance in terms of high current density, low power consumption and small footprint, which will help reduce costs effectively. The system’s load response is millisecond-level and the equipment is compatible with IGBT power supplies, ideally suited for large-scale hydrogen production using a renewable energy source .

Li Zhenguo, Founder and Chairman of LONGi, said LONGi hydrogen electrolysis equipment has proven to be reliable, safe and cost-effective in hydrogen production. The company will continue to increase its R&D investments to drive technological and product innovation. With the construction of digital and smart factories, the capacity of LONGi ALK electrolyzer will reach 1.5 GW by the end of 2022 and 5 GW by the end of 2025.
