Purpose of the role

The role of an Events and Activations Coordinator is to be responsible for implementing plans for small to medium sized events and activations (physical and virtual) for 947, 702, Cape Talk, KFM and Primedia Broadcasting, in accordance with agreed strategies, image and positioning objectives, so as to bring the Primedia brands to life.

  • Contribute to brainstorms and team sessions with creative concepts for online and physical events/activations
  • Implement trademark activations of properties sold by CS
  • Gather costs for budget presentation to line manager
  • Coordinate the contractual process with external parties
  • Produce quality events and activations that meet client/resort objectives
  • Ongoing monitoring and measurement of brand and communications activity to improve results and maximize business ROI. This includes post-campaign activities. Ensure that appropriate and relevant information is collected and shared in a timely manner
  • Setting up events/activations covering the following brands under the Primedia umbrella: 947, 702, Kfm, CapeTalk, EWN and PMB:

o Coordination of activations / events / promotional activities
o Manage step by step JOC process and EMS procedures, events/activations compliance
o Organize the event on the same day by being the point of contact for the selected suppliers and facilitators who make the event possible according to the brief provided by the company
o Liaise with customers, management and resort
o Create and coordinate post-event reports as needed for the team

  • Implementation of IP event properties, where applicable, under the direction of the Brand Marketing Manager
  • Assist in the coordination of internal events (e.g. conference, year-end/year-end parties)
  • Create and compile internal information materials for events
  • Support from other department members regarding station events/promotions/activations
  • Weekly update of station schedules


  • Bac+3 in Marketing (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of hands-on marketing/events experience.
  • Experience in budget creation and management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • An understanding of JOC and EMS processes, COVID protocols; Occupational Health and Safety and Events Act
  • Effective engagement with internal/external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of managing small to medium sized events, outside broadcasts and activations is an asset
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and precision essential
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to spot potential crises and escalate them to line manager in a timely manner
