Enzoic Extends Automated Credential Monitoring in Active Directory

The solution now continuously filters out insecure passwords and compromised full credentials, reducing the risk of a cyberattack

BOULDER, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#IT security–Enzoic, a leading provider of compromised credential filtering solutions, today released the latest version of Enzoic for Active Directory. The solution prevents users from choosing weak or previously exposed passwords by filtering them when they are created and continuously monitoring passwords to ensure they are not subsequently compromised. The latest version of Enzoic extends these capabilities to monitor users’ exact username and password combinations, providing the industry’s only Active Directory solution for this level of comprehensive protection against compromised credentials. By leveraging its dynamically updated proprietary database of billions of exposed and compromised credentials, Enzoic helps organizations reduce the risk of a successful account takeover.

With the growing threat of exposed credentials, NIST recommends that organizations verify that passwords are not compromised before being activated and monitor those passwords on an ongoing basis. Additionally, the FBI has mandated filtering of username and password pairs to mitigate the risk of a successful attack. Due to the problem of password reuse, organizations need a way to identify and prevent the use of insecure passwords and completely compromised credentials. With Enzoic for Active Directory, enterprises now have an automated filtering tool that strengthens their defenses against a range of password attacks.

“Organizations face a constant barrage of cyberattacks and desperately need a way to reduce the risk of falling victim to them,” said Michael Greene, CEO of Enzoic. “Companies now have a comprehensive solution that detects insecure passwords and full credentials without increasing the workload of their IT team and without any friction for users. This eliminates the risk of network breaches through Microsoft Active Directory.

“Our implementation of Enzoic has been instrumental in strengthening employee credential security,” said Dennis Yang, chief information officer at the Motion Picture Association. “The ability to identify if an exact username and password pair is exposed will be a game-changer, especially since we can automate the response to this threat. This means we will have greater confidence in our ability to thwart account takeover attempts without adding any additional burden to our IT team.”

Enzoic for Active Directory now detects when an exact username and password combination is exposed, posing a significant risk to enterprise security. If full credentials are compromised, a more aggressive remediation plan can be automatically activated. Remediation plans offer a range of actions based on the severity of the threat up to and including immediate deactivation of the compromised user account. Additionally, the latest version of Enzoic for Active Directory includes support for multiple policies, allowing organizations to set specific password rules and remediation actions per container, group, OU, or account. This allows organizations to have more aggressive monitoring and response for sensitive accounts such as those related to IT or finance.
