Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System Program in Chümoukedima
Chümoukedima, April 12 (MExN): To mark the celebration of ‘Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System’ under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a program was held at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima on April 12.
According to a press release, a brief report on Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) was delivered by I Anungba Sanglir, Deputy Director, F&CS. He said that the F&CS department is focused on the successful implementation of the PMGKAY which is an additional allocation of food grains to all beneficiaries covered under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) free of charge.
Sanglir said that during the first and second nationwide lockdowns, when everyone was in fear and indoors, “F&CS department personnel sacrificed our service for the people of the state and while on duty, some of our staff even lost their lives to COVID-19.
Special guest, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima said that the Prime Minister’s Food Security Program for the Poor was announced by the Government of India in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. However, some States/UTs in India have not been able to implement as per the Indian Government directive, due to the leadership of Nagaland CM and the tireless efforts and sacrifices made by the F&CS department, successful implementation of the plan was possible, he said.
P Vanlalpak K Gante, Division Manager, Dimapur also spoke during the program while two NFSA beneficiaries shared testimonies.
