Noklak, April 21 (MExN): The celebration of ‘Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System’ under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was hosted by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies at DC’s Conference Hall Noklak on April 21.
Speaking on this occasion as a special guest, Deputy Commissioner Noklak Hiazu Meru said that Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) is an additional allocation of food grains to all beneficiaries covered by the public distribution system targeted for free. DC mentioned that the program is a pro-poor initiative and is being taken up as part of the economic response to COVID-19 to alleviate the hardships faced by the poor due to the economic disruption caused by the coronavirus. It provides additional food grains of 5 kg per person per month, DC added.
Meru said that “Anna Yojana and Public Delivery System” was celebrated under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the achievements of our great nation, all recipients were urged to lend their support and cooperation to the government. Meru also published a brochure on this occasion.
Senior Supply Inspector Noklak Metsisieto Zhasa in his keynote address mentioned that PMGKAY Phase 5 has been successfully implemented in the district. He also informed that the PMGKAY -VI phase has been reported, from April to September 2022.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mucham, Musho, Pukho and Newkai expressed their gratitude to the government and the Department of Food and Civil Supplies for their timely distribution and expressed their full satisfaction with the public distribution system in the district.
Meanwhile, the program was chaired by Noklak Supply Inspector Okey Khiamniungan.
Wokha: In Wokha, the celebration of “Anna Yojana and the Public Distribution System” was held with ADC, Wokha T Lamkonsen Tsanglao as special guest at Tiyi hall, Wokha on April 21.
Addressing the rally, CDA said that in Wokha district, PMGKY has immensely benefited 18,756 cardholders with a population of 59,827. He commended the owners of FPS and the village council for providing on time the relief to the beneficiaries and also called on them to distribute and make wisely to ensure people get their fair share.
Beneficiaries who also spoke at the ceremony expressed their gratitude to the central government, state government and F&CS for providing relief materials during this difficult time.
